What is Touch?

Massage Search Engine

The science of touch is simple.  As we contact people, a physical connection makes them perceive a change in their skin and superficial layers of epidermis.  Going deeper, it is one of the many needs to maintain health and mental well-being.  Many studies have shown that, without contact from another individual, we stop thriving and revert to an antisocial behavior.

Each person has their own experiences with touch that creates a notion about how to respond to some types of touch.  Experiences can range from how your mom touched your head when you were a child, to how a coach slapped your rump during a game, or how a child hugged you with all their might.  All of these types of touch create neuropathways in your brain that trigger when you activate the portion of your brain that is responsible for tactile reception.
